IFMC QIO Governing Body
The Iowa Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contract, awarded to IFMC by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is governed by a Governing Body up to 15 members. The Governing Body provides guidance to the leadership team of the QIO contract. The membership is intended to reflect the customers and communities we serve. The Governing Body includes Medicare beneficiaries, health care executives, physicians, business leaders and other individuals as appropriate.
Governing Body members are appointed to a three-year term and may serve no more than two consecutive terms for a majority of the members. A minority of the members can serve three consecutive terms. Terms are staggered so approximately one-third of the Governing Body is appointed each year. Members are compensated $750 per meeting for Governing Body service; $250 for conference calls.
