Hospital Payment Monitoring Program

CMS established the HPMP to measure, monitor and reduce errors in Medicare fee-for-service inpatient payments. As the QIO, IFMC is responsible for reviewing sample hospital admissions for quality of care, medical necessity and accuracy of DRG payment. Using pattern analysis, IFMC develops and implements quality improvement plans to reduce payment errors.
