Import Status of Elements

The Import Status report displays the import tags (metadata) of patient and patient visit elements. The tags indicate whether the value in the element is manually entered, imported from a non-certified software application or imported from a certified software application. The tags are maintained by MCMP-PAT and cannot be directly modified by the user. Notes The totals do not reflect your electronic submission incentive payment. They are sums of records with data that was imported from certified and non-certified applications but other factors that could affect your incentive payment are not considered in the counting. Some of the elements displayed in the report are not part of a measure (e.g. LastName & FirstName). Only elements that are part of a measure are considered in determining your electronic submission incentive payment. Once the data in the element is tagged as imported it is never tagged as manually entered. Once the data in the element is tagged as imported from a certified application, it is never tagged as imported from a non-certified application. Datasets There are two types of datasets that can be viewed in the Import Status form: Patients and Patient Visits. Each dataset displays all the elements under it and their import tags. Refer to the import file specifications for the list of elements under the Patients and Patient Visits datasets and their valid values. Totals The last two rows in the grid are the totals. They display the total number elements with data imported from certified and non-certified applications. Report Columns If a Patients dataset is selected, all the columns that can be imported as specified in the file specifications topic, will be displayed with their tags and totals at the bottom. The following columns will also be displayed in the grid: Medicare ID, Last Name, First Name, and Birth Date. These columns are not used in determining your incentive but they were included in the report for information purposes. In the case of Patient Visits dataset, the visit date is also displayed along with the other elements. Values The table below shows the different values for each element that can be imported. Value Description X Indicates that the value in the element is not imported. I Indicates that the value in the element was imported from a non-certified appliation. C Indicates that the value in the element was imported from a certified appliation. Exporting Results Clicking on the Export button will bring up the Grid Exporter form that will allow you to export the contents of the grid into a tab-delimited file. Updating Tags The tags are updated when you import data. See the topic on Certification topic for more information on when MCMP-PAT sets the tags.
