Import Overview

Process
MCMP-PAT does not directly interact with any EHR system.  In order to copy existing data into MCMP-PAT, the EHRS needs to export it into a tab-delimited text file in a certain format.  MCMP-PAT will then read the tab-delimited file, check it for errors and import the data.  The flowchart below shows the import process and the documents needed.

Notes
  • For EHRS that store data using standard coding (LOINC, CPT2, CPT4, SNOMED, ICD9, drug codes), the algorithm, mapping and downloadable resources documents are needed. The data definition documents would also be helpful.
  • For EHRS that store data without using any of the standard coding systems listed above, only the data definition documents are needed.
