| Manually Updating MCMP-PAT |
| The following steps describe the process of manually updating the MCMP-PAT tool.
Perform this procedure only if the Updater
cannot be used due to some technical issues. Preparations 1. If MCMP-PAT is installed locally on your machine, make sure that none of the following is open by checking your Task Bar: MCMP-PAT, offline User's Guide, Cryptographer, Key Viewer and Updater. The Task Bar is the small area generally located at the bottom of your screen that lists the programs that are currently open, displays the current time and contains shortcuts. If MCMP-PAT is installed on a machine used by several users, let the system administrator update MCMP-PAT. The sytem administrator must then make sure that no one is using MCMP-PAT before upgrading it to the latest version. 2. Take note of the location where MCMP-PAT is installed. The default lcoation is C:\Program Files\MCMPPAT but the user who installed the application could have installed it somewhere else. It is important that the updated files be extracted into the correct folder so make sure that you have the exact location. To determine the location of the MCMP-PAT installation folder, right click on it's icon on your Desktop and select Properties. A dialog box similar to the one below will then appear. Copy the value in the Start in field if it is different from the default location. Close the dialog box by clicking on Cancel. ![]() The MCMP-PAT properties dialog box showing the location where the tool is installed. Wait until the the browser is done downloading the whole file. If the dialog box automatically closes after downloading the file, go to your Desktop or to the folder where you saved the file and double click on the file MCMPPAT_UpdatedFiles.exe. ![]() Depending on your security settings you may get a Security Warning dialog box. If this happens, click on Run. ![]() 6. Next, a WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box will appear.
