Restore Database

The Restore procedure allows the user to create an MCMP-PAT database from a backup database.  Use this feature if the current database becomes unusable and cannot be fixed.  Before using this feature, contact your IT person regarding the possibility of recovering your original database.  Follow these steps to restore from the backup file:

  1. Make a copy of the unusable database.  The plan is to create a restored file with the same name as the one that is currently usable and keep a copy of the unusable database.
  2. Open the Restorer application by clicking on Start   Programs MCMP Demo Restore Data.
  3. Enter the name of the backup file to restore from in the Source File text box or select it using the Browse button.
  4. The Target File text box should be pre-filled with the path and filename of the database that was used.  Modify it if this is not correct.  Specify here the path and filename of the database that was used but is currently unusable.
  5. Click the OK button to create the database.
  6. A message box confirming to overwrite the existing database will pop up.   Select "Yes" to continue.
  7. A message box will be shown to display the result of the restore operation.
  8. Click OK to close the message box.  If there were no errors, the Restorer form will automatically close.
  9. Open MCMP-PAT and use the newly created database.
